EdgeStar Deluxe 28 Bottle Wine Cooler

The EdgeStar Deluxe 28 Bottle Wine Cooler is a great entry level wine cooler. It holds up to 28 bottles of wine which is quite a lot when you consider the price of this unit. The wine is stored on 6 chrome slide out shelves, it has soft LED interior light for you to show off your wines and the door has tinted glass which is going to help protect your wines from damaging light.

The unit is vibration free due to it’s thermoelectric cooling system and it also uses an internal fan which circulates the air inside the cooler to ensure that there is even temperature distribution.

Pros

  • Cheap
  • Very quiet
  • Looks great
  • No moving parts
  • No vibrations

Cons

  • Not dual zone
  • No digital thermostat display

Verdict

This 28 bottle wine cooler by EdgeStar is fantastic value for money, including the shipping costs it is a little over $200 and for a wine cooler that has the capacity to hold up to 28 bottles of wine you really can’t go wrong. There are a couple of issues with this wine cooler such as it not having a digital display for the thermostat but that’s really not too much of an issue when you realise how much bang for buck you are getting with this unit. A cheap, good quality and well worthwhile investment.

Kalorik Thermoelectric Dual-Zone 18-Bottle Ventilated Wine Cooler

This Kalorik Thermoelectric Ventilated Wine Cooler holds 18 bottles of wine and is dual zone. It has an LED display and digital controls which make it very easy to use and stylish at the same time. The top zone can be set at between 44-1/2 and 53-1/2 F and holds up to six bottles, perfect for your white wines. While the lower zone can be set at between 53-1/2 to 64-1/2 F and holds up to 12 bottles for all of your red wines.

As this wine cooler uses a thermoelectric cooling system it limits the amount of vibrations which can have a negative effect on your wines by disturbing the sediments which will disrupt the aging process. The unit uses no more energy than a 75 watt light bulb which makes it great for the environment and also keeps your power bills down.

It has some soft interior lighting which has an on/off switch, automatic defrost, a Celsius and Fahrenheit switch and as there is no compressor this wine cooler will run without too much noise.

Pros

  • Very stylish
  • Value for money
  • Solid design

Cons

  • Poor customer service
  • A little noisy

Verdict

For the price the Kalorik Thermoelectric Ventilated Wine Cooler is a very good buy. It is stylish, has a solid design and is able to keep your wines at a consistent temperature without any worries. It is a little noisier than they tend to make out but for most people that won’t be too much of a problem. The only real draw back that we found with this wine cooler is just the fact that the customer service at Kalorik is not quite up to scratch, so if you do happen to have some sort of issue with the wine cooler then you may be a little disappointed. But all in all this is a great wine cooler and is extremely good value for money.

Picnic Time Cellar Insulated Six Bottle Wine Tote

The Picnic Time Cellar Insulated Wine Tote is a great way for you to take up to six bottles of wine with you on a picnic or any other outdoors occasion. It has padded interior dividers so that you can just use it to carry food items and it also makes it very easy to clean.

The interior is made from fully-insulated 420D nylon, ThermoGuard insulation and a pearlized foil lid which can keep your bottles of wine cool for a good couple of hours. The exterior of the bag is made out of polyester with a water-resistant PVC base and there is also a large pocket on the front for storing a bottle opener and any other accessories that you may need. The carry strap also comes with a comfort pad which makes it easy and comfortable to carry.

Pros

  • Great value for money
  • Very handy thing to have
  • Can be used to carry wine and/or food items
  • Keeps bottles relatively cool

Cons

  • Not very durable

Verdict

The Picnic Time Cellar Insulated Wine Tote is not strictly a wine cooler but we thought we would include it in our wine cooler reviews because it is a great thing to have and it makes transporting wine very easy. It’s obviously not going to keep your wines properly chilled but it does a good enough job for the price. It’s great for picnics and would make a great gift.

Whynter WC-211DZ 21 Bottle Dual Zone Wine Cooler Review

The Whynter WC-211DZ wine cooler is dual zone, meaning you can store wines at two different temperature settings. The upper zone thermostat can be set at between 44F – 66F and the lower zone at 50F – 66F. As the only moving parts in this wine cooler are the fans that circulate air in order to achieve an even temperature distribution it is less likely to go wrong and will outlast a lot of other wine coolers on the market.

There is some LED lighting which really brings this cooler to life which can be turned on or off. It holds a maximum of 21 wine bottles, 15 in the bottom zone and then another 6 in the top zone. As this unit uses a thermoelectric cooling system it has less parts to go wrong, is quiet, has no vibrations which could damage your bottles and is also safer for the environment. It also has some stylish stainless steel trimmed scalloped chrome shelves.

Pros

  • Stylish and modern
  • Very good value for money
  • Dual zone

Cons

  • Doesn’t go cold enough for champagne
  • Shelves a little flimsy
  • Filters need regular cleaning in order to maintain correct temperatures

Verdict

For this price range the Whynter WC-211DZ wine cooler is very good value for money. It looks great and the interior LED lights just bring it to life. If you are looking for a dual zone wine cooler that is good value for money and is able to hold plenty of wine, then as long as you can put up with the minor issues such as having to clean out the filters etc. then this will be a great buy.

Cooper Cooler HC02.C Tailgater Rapid Beverage Chiller

The Cooper Cooler HC02.C Tailgater Rapid Beverage Chiller is not like any traditional wine coolers, it can be used to chill bottles, cans and wine from 77 degrees F to 43 degrees F in just a matter of minutes. This can be very useful if you are having a party, to save room in your refrigerator or if you just can’t wait to drink that bottle of wine which isn’t quite cool enough.

This is very simple and easy to use, all you need to do is add ice and water, select the correct setting and then press start! There is an automatic timer which will stop the cooling process once it has reached the required temperature. The way this unit cools the bottles of wine or whatever you put in it is by slowly rotating the bottle while it is sprayed by ice cold water. But any fizzy bottles such as beer will never foam over when you open them! It also has a ‘no spin’ option if you are wanting to chill any delicate or fragile wines.

It can chill a standard sized bottle of wine from 77 degrees F to 43 degrees F (which is roughly the temperature of a refrigerator) in around 6 minutes, or if you want your wine ice cold then it would take roughly 12 minutes.

Pros

  • Chills wine, other bottles and cans in a matter of minutes
  • Easy to use
  • Comes with a 120V household plug as well as a 12V car lighter plug
  • Very useful at parties

Cons

  • A little noisy

Verdict

The Cooper Cooler wine chiller is a great gadget to have in your home, it’s probably not something that you are going to use on a regular basis but it is going to come in very handy if you throw any parties and there just isn’t enough room in your refrigerator or wine cooler. The only drawback that we found with this was that it can be a little noisy, it’s kind of comparable to a microwaves noise which isn’t too bad and if it means getting your bottles of wine chilled in a super quick time then it has got to be worth it! This is also something that would be great to give as a gift too.

Avanti Ewc-1201 12 Bottle Single Zone Wine Cooler

The Avanti Exc-1201 wine cooler is a single zone cooler which can hold up to a maxiuim of 12 bottles of wine, it holds 8 bottles horizontal and then 4 bottles standing upright. It uses a thermoelectric cooling system.

The glass on the door is curved which gives it a very modern look to it and that coupled with the platinum finish make this a very stylish wine cooler. The unit is failry small and compact which means it can easily be moved if needs be.

The controls on the Avanti Exc-1201 wine cooler are very easy to use, they are soft touch coupled with a digital display which really fits in with the sleek and stylish design of this unit.

Pros

  • Stylish and compact
  • Thermoelectric cooling system
  • Simple controls
  • Value for money
  • Ability to store 4 bottle upright

Cons

  • A little noisy
  • Only single zone
  • Only good for regular sized wine bottles

Verdict

The Avanti Exc-1201 wine cooler is a very good choice if you are on a budget. There are a couple of issues with it that we have highlighted but this is a fairly cheap unit so you can’t expect too much. The fact that it is only a single zone wine cooler might be an issue if you like to regularly store both red and white wines but given that this unit is so cheap you could always purchase 2 if you wanted, one for whites and one for your reds.

One of the things we liked most about this wine cooler is the ability to store up to 4 bottles of wine vertically beacuse this is often something that youi cannot do with a lot of other wine coolers on the market. All in all this is a great little wine cooler and is fantastic value for money.

Vinotemp VT-21TEDS 21-Bottle Wine Cooler

The Vinotemp VT-21TEDS is a dual zone wine cooler which means you are able to store wines at different temperatures which is very handy for storing both red and white wines in the same refrigerator. It is cooled by a thermoelectric system which makes it very quiet due to the very minimal number of moving parts and this also means that it doesn’t suffer from vibrations which can damage your wine.

The dual paned glass on this wine cooler mean that it has greater insulation properties for much better energy efficiency. It is a very stylish looking unit with a digital display, wooden shelves and a stainless steel trim.

The shelves can be easily removed which makes it very easy to clean and it also comes with a limited 1 year warranty included.

Pros

  • Dual zone
  • Quiet
  • Easy to clean

Cons

  • Poorly made
  • Temperature not very accurate
  • Shelves not strong enough
  • Poor customer service

Verdict

The Vinotemp VT-21TEDS wine cooler is best avoided in our opinion. There have been countless complaints and issues with this model breaking in a variety of different ways. When you buy something of this value you do not expect it to have so many issues and be built so poorly. This, coupled with the fact that the customer service is not up to scratch is not a very good combination at all! You can get much better wine coolers that cost less. Don’t waste your money on this product.

Whynter WC-321DD 32 Bottle Dual Temperature Zone Wine Cooler

The Whynter WC-321DD Wine Cooler is one of the more expensive wine coolers and as such has a premium quality and sophisticated design which some of the cheaper wine coolers often lack.

It has the capacity to hold 32 bottles of wine which should be enough for any wine enthusiast. It holds 16 bottles in each side, both of which have their own adjustable thermostat and LCD temperature display. This allows you to store wines at different temperatures which can be very useful.

It uses a vibration-free thermoelectric cooling system which means that it can keep your wine at exactly the right temperature while not having any vibrations which can potentially be damaging. Also, because the cooling system doesn’t have any moving parts it means that this is a very quiet wine cooler.

Pros

  • Adjustable thermostat for both sides
  • Minimal moving parts, which means it should have a longer life span than other wine coolers
  • No vibrations
  • Almost no noise
  • Well built

Cons

  • Shelves are too close together for larger bottles

Verdict

The Whynter WC-321DD Wine Cooler is a winner in our book! The only real downside we discovered was the fact that the shelves are a little too close together, although you can get around this by removing some of the shelves in order to fit any larger bottles in. The two sides, each with an independent thermostat is a very useful feature for keeping your wines cool at different temperatures and the fact that the unit is pretty much silent really does make it a great wine cooler.

Sunpentown WC-1271 12-Bottle Thermo-Electric Slim Wine Cooler

The Sunpentown WC-1271 Wine Cooler is perfect if you have limited space available. The slim design makes it very easy to fit into smaller spaces and it still has the capacity to hold up to 12 bottles of wine, it measures 19-1/2 by 10-1/4 by 25-3/5 inches. It has an LED display with touch sensitive controls which makes it easy to use and stylish at the same time. You can set the thermostat to keep your wine at temperatures between 52-65 degrees F.

It has some interior lighting which you can turn on or off depending on what you prefer. The thermoelectric cooling system that the WC-1271 uses, means that you will not get the vibrations that you would do with a compressor cooling system, This also means that this wine cooler is very quiet compared to a lot of others.

Adjustable legs make this wine cooler very sturdy, it has a recessed handle on the double pane glass door which is slightly tinted to add to the overall sleek look of the unit.

Pros

  • Slim design to fit into more places
  • Energy efficient
  • Very quiet
  • Elegant looks
  • One-year limited warranty
  • Interior lighting

Cons

  • Not recommended for cooling champagne or sparkling wine
  • Doesn’t fit larger bottles of wine

Verdict

If you are short on space then the Sunpentown WC-1271 will be perfect for you as it is slim but can still hold plenty of wine. If you enjoy champagne or sparkling wine then you should go for a different wine cooler because the lowest temperature this can go to is 52 degrees F and they are recommended to be served colder than that for the best taste. Due to how close the shelves are to each other it makes it difficult to store bottles of wine which are bigger than a standard bottle but you can remove the shelves to accommodate for bigger wine bottles if you wish. The sleek design, touch screen controls along with the soft interior lighting make it perfect if you like a more modern and minimalistic look.
